Hi! I’m Caitlin.

I began tattooing on skin in the summer of 2021 and have been in love with this career path ever since! In my free time if I’m not reading or hanging out with animals, I can usually be found outdoors in nature. Whether it’s birdwatching, rock-hunting, camping, fishing, or hiking; I love being outdoors and finding peace and inspiration.

values.

  • as someone who found comfort and healing in the process for getting tattooed, my main priority is ensuring that each of my clients feels safe, heard, and seen. It is of the utmost importance to me that I provide that safe space for them during our time together.

  •   any language that exhibits racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, body shaming, etc. will NOT be tolerated

  •   if you require or prefer any specific accommodations during our appointment, please let me know via the booking form, or over email.

  • While I am down to tattoo many things, there are a few things that I would prefer not to tattoo, or WILL not tattoo:

  •   I will not be tattooing anyone under the age of 18

  •   I would like to avoid tattooing hands, fingers, and anywhere on the head, such as behind the ear

  •   I will not appropriate cultural symbols or imagery, or do any sort of caricatures (ex: dream catchers, native or hula pin-ups, war bonnets, etc.)

  • I will not tattoo an exact copy of someone else’s work unless there is express permission from the artist.

about my work.

  • I love incorporating my background in nature/conservation into my tattoos. From birds, to bugs; bones to other crow-like trinkets - nature and science-based tattoos are my favorites, but I’m down to tattoo pretty much anything!

  • I’m always a fan of floral and botanical tattoos as well, and other witchy objects such as potion bottles, crystals, you name it!

pricing.

  • I have a minimum of $100 for all tattoos, and a price rate of $120 an hour, but I am more than happy to try to work with and accommodate most budgets.

  • The price is calculated purely on needle to skin time, and does not include time spent placing the stencil, consulting, breaks, etc.

process & certification.

  • When my books are open for new clients, there will be a link to a Google form in my Instagram bio. If you would like to submit a request for a tattoo, I ask that you please fill out one of these forms.

  • if your tattoo request/concept is accepted, you will receive an email from me within a week or so of my books closing, to schedule an appointment.

  • I try by best to open my books at least 4 times a year! And I generally book out for 3 month stretches or so. Make sure to keep an eye out on my social media for openings at @caitgraytattoos on instagram.

  • If you are a returning client, you are always free to email me if you have a new tattoo idea and would like to book an appointment!

  • I maintain a yearly BBP (blood-borne Pathogens) certification, specifically for body art.

  • I have an Associates Degree in Fine Arts from Grand Rapids Community College

  • 4+ years in various licensed tattoo parlors in Grand Rapids and surrounding areas.
